*Each student will be able to access their drive, open a new Doc, and share their work with a classmate.
*Each student will be able to use the commenting tool within Google Docs to provide commentary on their classmate's story.

Google Slides Introduction -

Google Slides/Textbook/Grit

The next tool you will be introduced to is Google Slides. 1st I will demonstrate the various tools within Slides, then we will have you build a sample slide using the various tools available.

Each student will take the Grit "test" to see where they place along the grit scale.

a four-paragraph paper to introduce yourself, and sharing it with a partner.

Once you finish your answers, make a copy of the paper (so you have 2 copies of your
paragraph answers)
*Upload one version to Google Classroom, and keep the other version for class activity during the
next block period


After you have completed your four paragraphs you will be submitting it to me on
Google Classroom.

Wednesday Aug 15th Day 1

This is the Classroom Blog - you will log-in to this site each day when you arrive. http://gilliswc.blogspot.com/

(Monday’s ) - these are shorter days the bell schedule changes on Monday’s. Monday’s are known as Mapping and Current Event Monday’s. Each Monday you will search and write a summary about two current events. There is a  Current Events Template that you will use to write-up your current event story.
In addition, you will establish a MyMaps (from mymaps.google.com) world map to place the location of your current event.


(Tuesday's-Friday's) These are block days. After your table group has retrieved the chromebooks, logon toyour sjusd acct, and go to the class blog for daily activities/assignments/etc

Today we will get temporary seating assignments, go over the course syllabus, classroom expectations, procedures, etc, etc.


Each day students will go to the chromecart as a table group. Each student is assigned a Chromebook based on your seat number.

Students will never get their chromecart when they enter the room, it will always be as a table group


You will log-in and access the class blog - SJUSD student log-in


We will also be using Google Classroom for assignment submission (if the assignment is electronic in nature) On the class blog are the class codes for Google Classroom.
