Rwanda Genocide
Objective: Provided the theatrical movie of the Rwanda Genocide "Hotel Rwanda" students will be able to identify the various events which led to the genocide which occurred in Rwanda, as well as understand the individual actions that characters played in the real events.
Rationale: Hollywood does a good job of creating visuals that encapsulate confusing and detailed events. This movie explains the main details in a way that is easy to understand and creates and opportunity for discussion after the film.
Evidence: By understanding the conflict in Rwanda, students can participate in a conversation which debates the merits of both sides of the cause of the genocide.
