OBJECTIVE: Students will examine the various philosophies surrounding economic and social relationships between the state and the individual, with a particular focus on Adam Smith and Karl Marx.
Economic philosophes of each of these two men will be analyzed to determine their strengths and weaknesses

RATIONALE: Students need to understand the factors that impact the economic opportunities or limits that are presented to them as a member  of the American Economic system

Tuesday-Wednesday Schedule

The entire class block will be dedicated to immigration work. Your fotonovela is due tonight. There are two assignments left in the immigration unit.
1 deals with California and how the Chinese Immigrants were treated

You will use Google Slides, and make an 8.5 X 11 slide (portrait OR landscape) and make a visual tour with labeling on each of the images you use, reflecting what is occurring within the picture, as well as participant commentary. Current Events Europe

Objective: Given access to a Chromebook, students will be able to access Google MyMaps App and a Google Drive based Current Events Template from the class Blog. Using the MyMaps app and the template, students will be able to look-up current events and summarize their selected story on the template. In addition, students will be able to use the MyMaps app to plot the location of these current event stories. 



Rationale: Students need to utilize the tools taught to them to ensure the learning becomes a part of their skill set. In addition, students need to become geographical aware of the world around them.



Evidence: Filling-in the Current Events template as well as using MyMaps to plot the location of the stories, will demonstrate that students have acquired the basic skills of fulfilling the  assignment.

1. List the country name that "sent" immigrants to America
2. List if the reason they left was a Push or Pull (push = immigrants forced out of their country, Pull = immigrants chose to leave because something pulled them to America)
3. Describe/explain with details the Push Pull reason
4. List where they relocated in the US
5. List the types of jobs they had in America
