Comparative Religion Project

Objective: Provided a list of resources (both presented by the instructor as well as through student initiated research) students will be able to identify various aspects of an assigned religion and compare the attributes of their assigned religion to the 6 other major religions (or the divisions within)  in a written report as well as a student led informational presentation.

Rationale: Religion effects many aspects of public life. Governmental policies, daily practices, feelings of right and wrong, societal roles for men, women, children, etc, many times have a connection to a particular faith. Understanding the various belief system around the world will help students understand the actions taken by people of other countries as well as inside the USA.

Evidence: By comparing the various histories as well as current practices of the worlds main religions, students will gain a better understanding to the actions taken on behave of a particular faith.
